Erythritol

Erythritol is a sugar alcohol used as a low-calorie sweetener. It occurs naturally in some fruits and fermented foods but is also commercially produced. Erythritol has about 70% of the sweetness of sucrose but only 5% of the calories. It is commonly used in sugar-free and low-carb products and is generally well-tolerated with minimal gastrointestinal side effects.
