Di-tert-Butyl azodicarboxylate (DBAD) is an organic compound commonly used as a reagent in organic synthesis. It serves as an oxidizing agent in various reactions, including the Mitsunobu reaction, which is employed for transforming alcohols into other functional groups. Being sterically hindered by its tert-butyl groups, DBAD is often more stable than similar azodicarboxylates but still should be handled with care due to its reactivity.
