Lincomycin hydrochloride

Lincomycin hydrochloride, with the molecular formula C18H34N2O6S⋅HCl, is the hydrochloride salt form of lincomycin. It’s an antibiotic that belongs to the lincosamide class. Lincomycin is effective against gram-positive bacteria and certain anaerobic bacteria. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. Lincomycin hydrochloride is often used to treat serious infections caused by susceptible strains of streptococci, pneumococci, and staphylococci.
