Mifepristone

Mifepristone, with the molecular formula C29H35NO2, is a synthetic steroid compound with antiprogestational and antiglucocorticoid properties. It competitively inhibits the effects of progesterone by binding to its receptors. Mifepristone is primarily known for its use in combination with misoprostol for the medical termination of early pregnancies. Additionally, it’s used in the management of high blood sugar in people with Cushing’s syndrome who have type 2 diabetes or glucose intolerance.
