Olmesartan Medoxomil

Olmesartan Medoxomil is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist used primarily to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that constricts blood vessels and raises blood pressure. The “medoxomil” part is a prodrug ester that enhances its solubility and absorption. Once ingested, it is converted to its active form, Olmesartan.
